The idea for this came last night as I powered through the game from start to finish in 6 hours without saving. And as I was going through the Otherworld Shepherd house, I realized that the medals puzzle symbolized Alex, not Adam (because Adam's puzzle is the knives one in the basement). And then I got really baw over it and wrote this dream. B|

I figured, after last months with all the trauma and horror and all that, I should give Alex a fun, wtf-inducing dream. But I didn't decide that until 3/4 of the way through writing it. *scratches head* I don't even know how this happened, actually. And I'm not even sure if I'm going to submit it. I might throw it in the fanworks community and do something else. But this is what comes out of my brain at 3 in the morning after a complete and total meltdown.

I didn't think I'd be able to do anything with this theme, but I guess I did. B( basically, ITT: Alex paranoids over Tom's deal with Discordia. On some level, he is actually legitimately afraid that this could really happen. After all, isn't this almost what happened after the events of Homecoming...?

This is just a first draft and is liable to change if I find time to fiddle with it before the deadline.

I've always loved the idea of Military!Alex to the point where I actually enjoy the game more when I'm playing through it if I focus on his war stories and try to forget about the fact that he's schizophrenic. I want him so desperately to be a soldier, you know, a real one. :c I'm actually surprised that I haven't written something like this sooner.

But he's not a soldier. He's just crazypants. And so this scenario falls under the category of "fairy tales." :C sobbies.

This dream wasn't either of the two ideas I originally had for this concept, but one of them failed DRAMATICALLY when I tried to write it, and the other one... turned into this. I was too scared to write my other one, so I turned it into something different. 8(

This thing doesn't read like a dream. As a matter of fact, if I really wanted to, I could probably use it as a prologue to a huge multi-chaptered fic. sigh. idk. But this is what I got, so this is what's going to be submitted.

The opening exposition (first 3 or so paragraphs) is pretty much shit, because I really had no desire to write it. But I knew it had to be done, so here you go. Just like all the others, this is only a first draft, so don't nitpick too much. I want to have the entire story written before I go back and start editing things.

There's some serious angst and a few mentions of sex, but nothing explicit. But dude honestly call the waaahhmbulance on these two. God they make me sick. :c But at least now you people know what happened between Tom and Sarah.

Okay, so since I can't play Sarah Palmer at a_trialbyfire for character relation overlapping reasons, I've decided to write fic about what it would be like if I did. I've been thinking up a long multi-part fic where Sarah comes in and causes general discord in Tom's life, which drives him to rip his bracelet off, which in turn eventually causes Alex to lose his mind, too.

Unfortunately, I'm writing the parts out of order. You're just going to have to deal with it. Sorry. And Sarah's not even really in this part. 8l Whatever.

I can see myself completely rewriting this at a later date. Pretty much, I want to put a playlist together to listen to while I write it. I tried to just put my entire music collection on shuffle and search for the creepy/tense songs, but that didn't really work out too well. I'd get irritated and settle on something less than stellar, and thus the part of the fic I wrote while listening to such a song comes out shitty. You'll see it. Some parts are just better written than others.

I also want to expand the beginning a bit more, where Alex first walks into Tom's house. I want more creepy Silent Hill-type "what's going to happen" buildup in there.

But it's just a first draft, ok. Give me a break. The fun thing about this part is that it can totally stand on its own as a fic, so you don't need any backstory. c:

also: I have a lot of problems writing action-heavy scenes, so I'll probably have to do some really heavy editing on those parts, too. It's my big problem as a writer, and I'm trying to work on it.

A loooong time ago (over a year now, back when Degeneration was five mysterious screencaps) when I decided I wanted to pick up Claire as an RP character, I picked up this challenge in order to get her voice down. I got pretty far, but I hadn't finished it then. But as I was looking through my documents in Word, I came across it, and now I... really want to get into it again. Every one of these sentences take place during the events of Code Veronica. I did that so that I didn't just make up random shit about her history/personality when I got stuck, and was forced to stick with canon details. I'd say I'm doing a pretty good job so far.

Keep in mind: I took a lot of things from the CV novel, and there are hints of Claire/Steve scattered throughout.
